Dr. Duran graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1994. He has practiced dentistry in several practices in Utah and throughout Texas. He and his wife, Esther, established Zen Dental Group in February of 2015, and the office has flourished since then. With Dr. Duran’s holistic approach to dentistry and the office’s weekend schedule, he has been able to accommodate patients’ needs in a way that other offices cannot. In his free time, Dr. Duran enjoys quality time with his 9 grandchildren, fishing, and several other hobbies that we are sure he would be happy to discuss with anyone who asks!
Sara joined the team in July of 2015 and has been a loyal and dedicated employee ever since. She is a Michigan native who moved to the valley during her formative years and graduated from Sharyland High School. She started managing the office in 2020 and has helped Dr. Duran maintain high-level care for patients and a joyful work environment for staff. Believe it or not, she also enjoys fishing with her spouse in her free time, competing in local pool leagues, and raising her 3 children.
Rebecca is a Valley native who joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school. She served for 10 years before being honorably discharged. She joined the Zen Dental team in 2022 and has learned to navigate the difficult world of insurance like a pro! She contributes so much to the team by verifying coverages, sending insurance claims and preauthorizations, and filing appeals when the insurance companies prove to be entirely unhelpful. Rebecca spends her downtime with her sons and precious puppy Bella. He also likes to compete in local pool leagues and tournaments!
Danielle originally joined Zen Dental in 2019 as a dental assistant and then took a hiatus to focus on her family. She recently returned to the office and helps us by greeting and walking out our patients with a friendly, warm smile, not to mention jumping back in to assist Dr. whenever we are very busy! Danielle is also a mama who dedicates her off days to taking care of her kiddos.
Amanda is our full-time hygienist. She was welcomed into our team in 2019 and has spent her time helping our patients achieve the gum health they deserve and strive for. She graduated from dental hygiene school in 2019 and has spent the last 7 years honing her craft. She loves her family and occasionally requests time off to attend comic cons!
Maria is one of our amazing dental assistants. She joined the team straight out of dental assistant school in 2020 and has been a big asset. She is great at taking care of our patients and assisting Dr. Duran at providing the highest level of care. She has a big family of 6 that she has her hands full with on our off days!
Carolina, or Caro, as we like to call her, has been with Zen Dental since 2019. She is a hardworking assistant who is great at keeping Dr. Duran on schedule and making sure all our patients feel at ease while getting treatment done. Her calming demeanor is a big help to any patients who struggle with dental anxiety. She says that being a mom has really helped her be able to remain calm in any situation.
Tania is our “newest” assistant, she joined us in 2024 but has been a dental assistant since 2015. Tania is our in-house lab tech who helps Dr. Duran design and fabricate some of our crowns. She is also great at building rapport with patients and helping everyone feel welcome in the office. Tania is in school and has her sights set on becoming a dentist!
Felicia started with the practice in 2015, fresh out of dental assisting school. She took some breaks in between to raise her kids and move away for a few years. She rejoined the practice this year and contributes daily to making sure everyone leaves the office smiling! She enjoys helping patients overcome their dental anxieties!
